[ARCHIVED] ANNUAL TOWN MEETING 2022 - Public Health Protocols

Hello All,

We hope to see you THIS SATURDAY, MARCH 26, 2022, at 9:30am in the Donaldson Auditorium for Town Meeting!  Check in begins at 8:00AM and the new school spaced will be open for viewing. Although the location of the auditorium has not changed, the school renovation has reconfigured the entrance.  A map of the new entryway can be viewed here.

We understand that not everyone will be comfortable returning to large indoor gatherings. Therefore, we wanted to outline the variety of protective measures that will be in place so that residents can participate at their own comfort level:

Testing – The Town has free at-home test kits available to all residents.  They can be picked up at the Select Board’s Office, the Council on Aging, and the Public Safety dispatch window.  We STRONGLY encourage residents to test themselves before and after the meeting to reduce any chance of transmission.  Everyone has access to test kits, so this is a quick and easy precaution we can all take!

Masks – The Board of Health has lifted the indoor mask mandate but continues to encourage individuals who are at increased risk of severe Covid-19 disease because of age or medical conditions, or who have a household member at such increased risk, to wear masks when indoors.  Likewise, all members of the community are encouraged to wear masks based on their personal comfort level.

Masked-Only Seating – Masked individuals can choose to sit anywhere they like, but we will provide a section of seating in the auditorium that will ONLY be for individuals wearing masks.  This location will be closest to the entry doorway and will be marked clearly. A map of the room can be viewed here.

Seating Space - We ask all participants to allow for 2 empty seats between parties while inside the auditorium. Please work with others in your row to maximize safe seating opportunities.

We will also be broadcasting the meeting in the Reed Gymnasium to allow participants more opportunity to socially distance. Residents in the gym will be able to view, listen and vote, but they will not be able to make comments.  To comment, they will need to come to a microphone location in the auditorium.

Meeting Efficiency – We are making full use of the “consent calendar” to expedite the voting process, and have posted all presentations and meeting materials in advance on our Town Meeting webpage. Presentations on Saturday will be brief to allow the meeting to focus on discussion. This should help reduce the overall length of the day.

Remote Viewing - For those unable to attend the meeting in person, we are providing a live feed through your cable TV (Verizon Channel 33, Comcast Channel 8) and our Town Meeting webpage.

We appreciate your cooperation and hope you can join us!
