[ARCHIVED] Battle Road Public Outreach

Battle road Bridge 511 x 333

THE Battle Road Scenic Byway Committee of the Towns of Arlington, Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, and the National Park would like to invite you to find out what we have been up to during the last five years. THE Battle Road Byway is a State designated Byway that stretches from the Arlington/Cambridge line through the Towns of Arlington, Lexington, Concord and Lincoln to Minute Man National Historical Park.  The Byway traces the route of the Colonial and British soldiers during the American Revolution and highlights historical and cultural sites along the way.  There is an additional loop in Lincoln that traverses Bedford Road to Baker Bridge Road and back up Route 126 to Route 2A.  This loop highlights Lincoln’s special historical, cultural, and architectural landmarks.

We have very exciting news to share - Congress is voting to reinstate Federal Program for Scenic Byways. We are hoping for a positive vote in Congress this fall. If passed, the legislation could qualify us for federal money.

We invite you to Blue Theater at Minute Man National Historical Park’s Visitor’s Center from 6 - 8 pm on October 15, 2018. Parking at the Visitor’s Center parking lot on Route 2A.

We have designed historic signs and also designed a website to highlight the activities along the Battle Road Byway. MassDOT’s District 4 has been an active participant in our work.

We would like you to review what we have done, make comments and suggestions and get your ideas for the future of the Committee. We have appreciated your past support and we are ready for the next phase of our public outreach.
