Volunteers Needed – Capital Planning Committee
The Town of Lincoln believes that board and committee diversity strengthens performance, integrity, trust, and partnerships with our staff, community, and guests. The Select Board is seeking two interested volunteers to serve as At-Large members on the Capital Planning Committee starting in Fall 2025. One seat expires in 2027 and the other in 2028.
The Capital Planning Committee provides a format under which the town’s current and future capital needs can be identified, prioritized and given due consideration against the Town's fiscal constraints. The Committee weighs all decisions against the core values of the community and its desired quality of life. They manage a rolling 5-year forecast, as well as review annual requests for capital funding prior to Town Meeting approval. The Committee seeks Lincoln residents who have interest/experience in building and facilities management, grounds and infrastructure maintenance, technical systems development, and strategic planning. They should possess strong communication and collaboration skills, and a desire to serve the community through open and thoughtful civic engagement.
Letters of interest and a volunteer application should be addressed to Moderator Sarah Canon Holden and sent to Peggy Elder, Administrative Assistant in the Select Board’s Office, at elderp@lincolntown.org, not later than Friday 9/26/25. The Moderator will interview and appoint candidates as soon as possible. For more information, call the Select Board’s Office at (781) 259-2601.
