Fitness Classes

The Lincoln Council on Aging & HuFitness Classesman Services offers an array of programs and services to help you stay healthy and fit! In-person:

STRETCH AND FLEX
Tuesdays
and Thursdays. Cost: $3.00/class
11:15 am-12:15 pm at Bemis Hall
Designed to help maintain strength, flexibility, and independence with both standing and seating exercise using resistance bands provided by the COA&HS. Warm-up moving your body and joints through their full range of motion without resistance to the music. Strengthening your muscles with various upper and lower body exercises. Full body stretch designed to lower your heart rate, relieve stress, increase flexibility, and leave you feeling great. Class can be done seated or standing. Taught by Terri Zaborowski.

 

ACTIVE AGING
Tuesdays
and Thursdays. Cost: $3.00/class
12:30-1:30 pm at Bemis Hall
Functional fitness class with exercises designed to help seniors maintain strength, balance, and independence. Designed for every fitness level with modifications and adaptations. Flexibility training to increase joint range of motion. Balance exercises to improve gait and confidence. Resistance training to build lean muscle and increase bone density all to the beat of the music! Finish with a 5-minute stretch. Taught by Terri Zaborowski.
  
LINE DANCING
Wednesdays. Cost: $3.00/class 
9:30-10:30am at Bemis Hall
Enjoy the fun of line dancing. Move to the music and dance freely where a partner is not needed! All levels are welcome to participate. Taught by Robin Sparr.

 

CARDIO JAZZ
Wednesdays. Cost: $3.00/class 
10:30-11:30am at Bemis Hall
Dance to upbeat music while getting your heart rate up, building up your cardio endurance, and learning moves to familiar tunes. Dress comfortably and bring a water bottle. Taught by Katie Anderson.

 

Hybrid:
TAI CHI

Cost: $3.00/class

Tai Chi (Beginner/Level 1): In-person & via Zoom
Mondays at 2:00 pm, Wednesdays at 1:00 pm, and Thursdays at 9:15 am. 
Tai Chi (Advanced/Level 2): In-person only
Mondays at 3:00 pm and Thursdays at 10:15 am. 
Tai Chi (Advanced/Level 3): In-person only
Wednesdays at 2:00 pm
 This gentle practice works the joints and muscles to increase flexibility, strength, balance, and circulation. Meets for three sessions of about ten weeks each in the fall, winter, and spring via Zoom. Participants must sign up in advance. Space is limited. Taught by Jane Moss, Ellie Horwitz, and Cynthia Rosenberger.


Virtual:

SAIL Balance (Stay Active and Independent for Life
Fridays. Cost: $3.00/class or $60/session 
10:00-10:45 am via Zoom
Join Derry Tanner, retired nurse and certified personal trainer for SAIL. Strength, balance, and flexibility exercises make you stronger and feel better. All you need to participate is comfortable clothing, a sturdy chair, and hand weights if you have them.
