The library has an exciting new addition to it's collection -- a high quality telescope that patron's can borrow! Mathworks, Inc., provided the funding for this gift, and the Aldrich Astronomical Society obtained the instrument, modified it for ease of use, and provided instruction on its use to library staff. We are exited to provide a series of astronomy related programs this fall to complement this telescope. If there is sufficient interest, we will expand our astronomy programming and perhaps form a club. The programs are suitable for anyone from age 10 and up.
This evening's program will feature John Root, of the Aldrich Astronomical Society who will give a presentation that should be of interest to anyone who has looked up at the sky and wondered.... Mr. Root will discuss his organization, astronomy, and observing the night sky with a telescope. Following his talk, a member of the library staff will explain what you need in order to check out our telescope.
