Placemaking

Placemaking is a multi-faceted approach to place identity and the planning, design and management of public spaces. Placemaking capitalizes on a local community's assets, inspiration, and potential, with the intention of creating public spaces that promote people's health, happiness, and well being. Placemaking is both a process and a philosophy.

The Placemaking Team was appointed by SLPIC and consists of the following members:

 • Ken Bassett
 • Noah Sawyer
 • Craig Nicolson
 • Sharon Antia
 • Carol Kendrick
 • Geoff McGean

The Placemaking Team is staffed by the Planning and Land Use Staff

The Placemaking Team is currently working on the green space at Lincoln Station and Lincoln Woods and applied for a $50,000 crowd funding grant to Mass Development. If funded the Team will need to crowd fund $50,000 and if successful Mass Development will match it for a total of $100,000 for placemaking efforts.
