2020 Annual Town Meeting and Special Town Meeting
Town Meeting, Special Town Meeting & Election Rescheduled
March 13, 2020
By declaration of the Moderator and vote of the Selectmen, respectively, the March 28th Annual and Special Town Meetings, and the March 30th Annual Town Election have been postponed. The decisions to postpone were informed by our public health emergency planning team which has been carefully monitoring the evolving nature of the coronavirus risk level in our community and across the state. Consistent with Massachusetts General Law, the Moderator declared that the Town Meeting and Special Town Meeting be postponed to a time certain, that time certain being Saturday, April 25th, at our customary time of 9:30 a.m. and our customary location at the Donaldson Auditorium, Ballfield Road school campus. The Annual Town Election will be held Monday, April 27th, with polls opening at the Smith School gym at 7:30 a.m. and closing at 8:00 p.m. Please be advised that the Town’s leadership may, depending on evolving circumstances, again determine it necessary to postpone the Town Meetings and Election. Regardless of when we proceed with Town Meeting and the Election, extra public health precautions will be taken in consultation with the Board of Health (e.g., social distancing arrangements, industrial facility cleaning, strongly urging those exhibiting symptoms to remain home, and others that are now becoming accepted practice).
